Frame Sizing

Size is important! The fastest way to determine if the bike is *close* to the appropriate size for you is to stand over the top tube of the bike. If the frame is a traditional diamond shape road bike frame, you want about 1″ of clearance between the top tube and your pelvis.

For a mountain bike that you’ll be riding off road, you want about 2″ of clearance, sometimes 3″.

Road bikes are measured in centimeters and mountain bikes in inches. Here’s a basic size chart:
